We’re continuing our video series “A Chat with Matt” where we talk to Matt Peterson, content training specialist at Infusionsoft, to share creative marketing ideas to help you and your business succeed.
Last week Matt Peterson and I talked about event marketing and how you can start small and still wow your customers. This week we wanted to provide an alternative option that would still allow you to interact and provide great service.
We’re talking about Webinars. Peterson says that there is no ‘must’ when it comes to holding a webinar. Depending on your company and who your customers or prospects are, you’ll be able to design your even the way it will be most beneficial to your audience.
“Webinars are a great way for somebody to sit at their computer and feel like they have one on one face-time with us…we can have a thousand people on a call and we’re all getting that one on one communication,” says Peterson.
Videos are also an option to educate your audience, and we’ve talked about this before, but with a webinar you may be able to provide a ‘replay’ of the experience with the program you use. GotoWebinar is a popular one but there is a cost to it.
“Just to get started you can use a Google hangout. That is an opportunity that some people may want to take advantage of. Why not get a few friends on a google hangout and deliver your message,” says Peterson.
Using social media is great and the best part is you can adapt to your needs. The three steps we talked about last week still apply:
- Invite
- Remind
- Follow up
“Make sure you have an automated system to follow up with them after the event so you can expand on the things they learned about…down the road we want to inspire them to do something more, hopefully to buy your product or to buy another product, refer a friend or some action they need to take so, don’t forget the follow up,” says Peterson.
Try it out and open those lines of communication. This will let your audience know you care.
